Sindh Unveils Rs22bn Ramadan Package to Alleviate Inflation Burden: Full Details Inside

KARACHI – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah introduced a Ramzan relief package on Thursday, aimed to support the people of Sindh who are coping with high inflation. The relief initiative, valued at Rs22 billion, is meant to alleviate the financial stress experienced by citizens across the province.

As part of the relief package, CM Shah has approved a cash aid of Rs5,000 for 60 percent of the province’s population that earns a minimum wage.

This financial assistance is set to benefit about 3.5 million families with a minimum monthly income of Rs32,000. The Sindh Zakat Department will be responsible for distributing Rs14,000 to 110,000 families in dire need.

Furthermore, CM Shah has ordered that there be no electricity cuts during the Sehr and Iftar times throughout the holy month of Ramzan in Sindh. He has called on the power companies, including K-Electric, Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO), and Sukkur Electric Supply Company (SEPCO), to ensure a steady supply of electricity during these critical periods.

In the same meeting, the chief minister highlighted the need to take strict action against hoarding and price inflation. He directed the local district administrations to strictly enforce the official pricing on essential goods throughout the province.
