The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that several regions of Pakistan will experience partly cloudy skies with chances of scattered showers and snow over the mountains on Monday night, as well as Tuesday and Wednesday.
Currently, the country is under the influence of continental air. However, a westerly wave is expected to enter Balochistan by tomorrow evening or night, bringing changes in the weather.
Due to these conditions, areas in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan may see light rain coupled with wind or thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills starting Monday night. The forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday indicates that northwestern and southern parts of Balochistan may also experience rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills. Other parts of the country are likely to experience cold and dry weather, with freezing temperatures in the upper regions.
In Islamabad, the temperature is expected to drop, with minimums ranging between 2-4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 1-3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
Over the past 24 hours, most of the country has already been under cold and dry weather with freezing conditions observed in the upper regions. However, there has been rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and snowfall over the mountains in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Pothohar region.
