Imran Khan Calls for Supporters to Vote as ‘Weapons’ Amidst Legal Battles

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has made a powerful call to his followers, urging them to use their votes as “weapons” during the election period on February 8.

Khan is currently facing legal charges which he adamantly describes as “frivolous, baseless, and politically motivated.”

In the face of multiple allegations including the Toshakhana, Cypher, and Iddat cases, Khan has maintained his innocence. He has expressed concerns particularly about the cypher case, highlighting the risk of foreign entities meddling in Pakistan’s affairs.

In a recent social media post, Khan stressed, “When the cypher case emerged, I warned that unless we dealt with it decisively, no Prime Minister in the future would be able to withstand such blatant foreign interference in Pakistan’s internal matters.”

He also accuses the legal system of denying him a fair chance to defend himself, comparing the situation to a historical act of betrayal in Bengal by Mir Jaffer.

Although convicted in the Toshakhana case, Khan insists on his financial honesty and believes the accusation was made up due to no actual evidence of financial wrongdoing being found against him.

Khan also mentioned the acceleration of the case concerning his marriage to Bushra Bibi, his third wife, which he denounced as another effort to undermine his vision for Pakistan inspired by the Riasat-e-Madinah principles. He asserts that the trial is not being conducted fairly and that there is an undue rush to declare him guilty.

Khan concludes by implying that the entire trial process is biased and unjust, stating, “They are concluding it in haste without an iota of fairness in the trial just to announce me guilty.”
