Islamabad’s administration has taken strict measures, enacting Section 144 in the capital city, following allegations of election rigging put forth by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). A spokesperson for Islamabad’s police has confirmed that the security level has been elevated to high alert status.
To ensure the safety and order in the city, police patrols have intensified, and security checks at various city points have become more stringent. Additionally, special Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) forces have been deployed and are on standby to manage any unforeseen emergencies.
The police department has advised citizens to always carry necessary identification documents when traveling and to comply with police personnel during security checks.
Furthermore, with the anticipation of traffic buildup around F-9 Park, the police have recommended that people avoid non-essential travel to this area.
For any sort of emergency, residents are instructed to contact the police immediately either by calling the hotline 15 or using the ICT 15 application.
