The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has launched the Ramzan Relief Package 2024, which began on Monday at utility stores throughout Pakistan. The package offers subsidized rates on certain items, aiming to provide financial relief to the lower-income segment of the population during the holy month of Ramzan, which is expected to start on March 12.
The government has put forth this relief initiative a week prior to the anticipated commencement of Ramzan, focusing on easing the financial strain caused by soaring inflation. During Ramzan, there is typically an increase in food consumption and charitable activities, and the package is designed to lessen this financial burden for citizens.

This year’s Ramzan Relief Package also includes special discounts for consumers who are registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). To support the implementation of this relief measure, the federal government has allocated a budget of Rs 35 billion for the fiscal year 2023-24 to subsidize essential commodities as part of the Prime Minister’s Relief Package.
