ISLAMABAD – Several leaders from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) made a distinctive appearance in the National Assembly by wearing masks bearing the face of Imran Khan during the first session since the General Elections 2024.
Members such as Sher Afzal Marwat and Ali Mohammad Khan, as well as other PTI leaders, entered the parliament’s lower house wearing plastic masks of Imran Khan, who is currently in jail facing charges related to corruption.
As part of a visible show of solidarity, PTI leaders displayed their party flags within the House and raised slogans. They also held up banners supporting other imprisoned PTI figures like Aliya Hamza Malik.
On social media, images and videos have captured the PTI leaders in the masks of Imran Khan, standing side by side in a unified stance.
In a notable incident, one of these Imran Khan masks was thrown at PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif while he was interacting with speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf after adding his signature to the Roll of Signatures.
