Government Declares February 5 as a Public Holiday

Pakistan’s interim government has set February 5, 2024, as a public holiday. This day is recognized as Kashmir Solidarity Day to stand with the people of Kashmir.

The Interior Division released a notice on Friday, which stated that the nation will observe a one-minute silence at 10 am on February 5. This act of silence is to remember and honor the individuals who lost their lives in Kashmir.

Kashmir Day is commemorated each year on February 5. It is a day to unite in support of the Kashmiri people, who are striving for the right to self-determination while facing challenges in the region under Indian control.

Various activities such as marches, seminars, conferences, and prayer gatherings are held on Kashmir Day.

These events are organized to bring attention to the human rights issues in the area. They also aim to advocate for the Kashmiri people’s inherent right to decide their own future.
